Mastery Connect

Hi Everyone! My district has recently purchased Mastery Connect and is encouraging everyone (even visual arts) to use it. Is anyone else out there using this program to create curriculum maps and track mastery of standards? The search function for the "other subject areas" left a little to be desired, but I would love to connect and share resources!See More

Combined Grades

This year my school is combining grades 1 & 2 as one class and grades 3 & 4 as another. All the info provided to the specialists was we will be teaching the curriculums of the highest grades in each group.   Anyone amongst the art ed community have any suggestions for maintaining a spiraling curriculum with combined classes?  I'd love any suggestions/advice.Bit of background: private school, low enrollment due to a miriad of reasons, new head of school, I'm the sole art techer.  Thanx!See More

Blind Kindergarten Student

Hi, all-This is about to be my first year as a teacher! I expect it to be both fun and challenging, and have been spending an incredible about of time in my room cleaning and organizing. I was informed yesterday that one of my incoming kindergarten students is completely blind. I got to see him in action a little bit over the summer, as I work at the summer school program that he attended. However, I am REALLY nervous about this coming year with him. I've never worked with a blind student, and…See More
